WOW

WOW!!! Thanksgiving was awesome!!! I had such a blast! My mom's side of the family came over, along with some of my good friends. There was sooo much food! Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, green chili (Pueblo style!!!), corn, pies, and soooo much more!!!! It was a GLORIOUS day of eating!!! I just loved it!!! Spending time with my family and friends, was a great time in my life. I was able to remember all the things I'm so greatful for in my life. The people I have in my life such as my family, my friends, pastor and first lady, church, and my awesome and adorable boyfriend that I can't wait to see on Christmas!!!!

Then Friday, we all set up our Christmas decorations. Set up our WHITE CHRISTMAS TREE!!! I just love it, it's so beautiful, white with red decorations...! Then some friends and family came over and we just celebrated Thanksgiving again, it was fun. Later on we went out SHOPPING...!!!!! WOOHOO!!! I was able to buy my brother's and my awesome boyfriend some of their gifts. Along with a few things for me and my mom. Then I treated my mom, cousins and a friend to Olive Garden. It was pretty good, and I had fun with all of them. I love them all very much!!!

Saturday, was another day of eating...hehe. Then I went to our annual Parade of Lights with my cuz Rich, my family and met up with some friends. It was so COLD...! Lem'me tell ya bout Colorado weather...IT'S FREEZING!!! But we still managed to have some fun. And as of right now, we are at my house hanging out spending some time together and obviously I'm updating this blog. I do have a few pics to post, but ya'll will have to wait until I find my camera so I can upload them...hehe.

Now...time to get all these holiday pounds down...work out and diet time!!! hehe...I hope you all had a great time and a great holiday!!! Can't wait for the next one...CHRISTMAS...!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Thanksgiving!!! "Gobble-Gobble"

I just can not wait for this Thanksgiving. Yes, I enjoy the other holidays but Thanksgiving is just seriously one of my favorites!!! This is the one time of year that I really get to enjoy the holiday with the majority of my family. All of my aunts and uncles getting together at my house, along with my cousins and now some coming with their little families they started. My grandma and grandpa coming over. And there are always friends droppin' by to say hello and get some green chili. Yummy! Then the following Friday night, our Youth goes to help the other families eat their left overs, going from house to house starting with salads at the first house, soup at another, appetizers at another, dinner at another and then dessert at the last house where we all stay and party and play games!!! It's gonna be a great but most-likely cold Thanksgiving, but when free food is involved we can't say no to that!

My favorite Thanksgiving foods are, Turkey (woohoo), mashed potatoes, corn and green chili. I'm not big on sweets but pies are always good and me and my friend this year are going to make pies at her house, plus one of my aunts always makes these awesome pies!!!

But besides eating (hehe) my favorite thing to do during this time is to spend it with the people I love and the ones I care most about. This year is just going to be so great! Right before Thanksgiving this year, God put a few special people in my life as new friends and some old friends. Friends for life, that's for sure. This year I get to spend my Thanksgiving with all that was listed in the first paragraph and one of my new friends for sure.

I'm so thankful that God placed my family and my friends in my life. I want to thank each and every one of them so much for just being great and doing all that they can to be by my side and with my family in times of need. Or even when they just had a burden to be a blessing. I'd be lost with out you all. I love you all very much! Thanks for another or for some of you a new and awesome year. I pray that we have many more blessed years together!

Then after Thanksgiving - shopping for CHRISTmas!!! Woohoo!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!! I pray that you have a great one and enjoy the time you have with the people God placed in your life!

God Answers Our Prayers!!!

I just wanted to thank everyone for all of your prayers for my uncle. I got news today that he got out of surgery at 2:30 a.m...! The doctors got 99% of the cancer and that the 1% they can get with radiation and that he'll be just fine...! PRAISE GOD!!!!! He will be in ICU for the next couple of days but thankfully God heard our prayers and guided the surgeons hands! And above all else, gave my uncle one more chance to make things right with God. Now let's just pray that God soon fills him and the rest of the family with the Holy Ghost!!!

Again, THANK YOU!!!

Prayer Request

Hey ya'll this is just a little prayer request. I tried to post this earlier, but complications with the hospital's wifi wouldn't allow me to access my page to post...ugh...anyway...

I am asking for prayer for my Uncle Tommy and his family. He, if you don't know yet, has Squamous Cell Carcinoma Cancer - which affects the cells at the surface of the skin. The thing is that it went to his ear that now it's in his brain. He went so long with it untreated thinking it was just an ear ache that it became very dangerous and deadly. In October he had surgery but the doctors were only able to get 52% of the cancer. They were scared to go in any further because the tumor was on the brain wall and they said it's too dangerous so they would continue with radiation and wait until Nov. 10 to try and get the rest. Well, Nov. 10 has come and go, and we were at the hospital all day. And by the time I left which was about 8:30 P.M. he was still in the O.R. He was in surgery way longer than they said which was only to be a 12 hour surgery.

If you don't remember, my aunt Lucille was dying from a kidney failure and was very sick. Well, God allowed my uncle Tommy to be a match and he donated his kidney to my aunt. To this day my aunt is still alive and doing well for all that she's been through. But now it's my uncle and again he is going through another major operation.

He was stable when we left and the last surgeon was working on him. We are still in need of prayer for him and the family. Especially for his salvation above anything else. This seems to have been a wake up call as my mom and I have been able to see an open door and witness to him and he's actually listening. So please help us pray that my uncle and aunt and their sons/families see the miracle power of our God, Jesus and that their hearts be open to God and they receive the Holy Ghost...!

Thanks again, and I will continue to keep you posted with the progress.

Richie

Richard I just want to take a moment to talk about the greatest and the best lil' buddy!!! I've known this lil' guy (not so little anymore) since the day he was born. He is like my brother. He and his mother are very good and close friends. I've had the honor to watch him grow into what God wants him to be. Watch as God's plan unfolds right before our very eyes. He is a very talented young man (watch out girls - his big sister is watchin'!). He plays the organ and piano like nobody I know. He sings and plays with annointing and gives God his all while doing it. He's a natural and not only is he musically talent. But he's a good kid, that loves God with all his heart. I'm proud to call Richie my "puffness". He's probably gonna kill me for saying that. But I'm very proud of him. I love this boy like he's my brother. We are all very proud of you Richie and can't wait to see the rest of God's blessings fall into your life. And you become stronger in Him each day and follow God's plan for your life. We love ya bubba!!!
Your big sis/"cousin" hehe...Roc

VOTE VOTE VOTE

Okay, so I was really flippin' out last night and today because I thought I wasn't gonna be able to vote since I moved. But lucky me, in a strange way, I didn't register in California, so since right now during Voting, I am in Colorado, I was able to vote...! Since I am registered here to vote!!!

To be honest, I wasn't going to vote, and I think that's a big reason as to why I didn't register in California. I know, I know, shame on me. But this election just had me going through so many emotions. Especially with me and my heritage, being half African-American, being female and my Christian morals. No, I wasn't going to vote for Obama. At first, it was seriously a thought, until he opened his mouth and did and didn't do things (pledge to the flag). But thank God that he did and didn't do some of those. Myself and all of America saw truly who this guy is and what he's all about. Then McCain, I know I'm probably going to offend people either way, but I am not really impressed with him as well. So even talking to my friends and family, I let them know I wasn't voting this year. That to me it didn't matter. You probably think I didn't do my research, in fact I did and that's why I wasn't really impressed. Plus, I have seen so many people that I love just be obsessed with this and it seemed that this seemed to take over their lives. Seriously, not joking. Some friends from church, instead of talking about God and other positive things or whatever, all that could come out of their mouths were politics and Obama and McCain. Even the little kids. Everyone has found it in their mind that Obama is the anti-Christ. Okay, maybe so, but like I was talking with a friend from my church and he helped me out a little by saying..."He may be the anti-Christ, he may not, but the Bible does say that we would not know who he is"...I sat there and looked at him and wasn't so sure about it. I know he is not a great man and I'm by all means am not trying to defend him. ButI was just so sick over it. That even with family, we couldn't go out to eat or even have a good little conversation without it coming up and people again fighting. There was nothing ever really bad said about McCain except that he was just like Bush. But whatever, that didn't get to me. Not as much as Obama because he was just taking up so much time from my friends and family, I really wanted him out of our lives!!!

If anything I was more impressed with Sarah Palin over anyone. So she is one reason as to why I started changing my mind as of last night which was Tuesday, Nov. 3...!

So this is what I did...

I went on the internet and did some more in depth research. First I looked up the meaning of their names. I was very impressed with Sarah Palin's if anything. Her name means Princess (Sarah) Famous Warrior (Louise). McCain and Biden had similar ones where their names had to do with God, which was cool, but I wasn't impressed, not just yet. Until I looked up Obama's first and middle name...wow! I was, I don't even know what to say about it. But his name means Blessed (Barack) but here is what I also found loving history and theology remembered something, "In Hebrew, Beresheit/Genesis 12:3 literally reads: “Ve’nivrechu bekah kol mishpachot ha-adamah.” “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you and in you all the nations of the earth shall be mixed! The Hebrew word translated in most translations as “blessed”, is the Hebrew word “ve’nivrechu.” “ve-Nivrechu” appears only three times in the Tanak at Beresheit 12:3, 18:18 and 28:14 and all three times it speaks of how Avraham will affect the nations of the earth. This word can also mean “mixed” or “grafted” as much as it connotes blessing. This is important when one understands the greater plan of Yahweh to fulfill His promise to Avraham and his descendants to, yes, certainly “bless” the nations but also in “how” He would do that blessing: via “grafting” or “mixing” of his seed into all the nations." -now is that scary??? The way they (the Yahweh's and some Israeli's) see this...and now we have a scary "Barak" in our midst...! Anyway on to his middle name - Handsome One or doer of good deads; a descendent of the Prophet(Hussein)...but it was very odd and scary! Blessed...? A descendent of the Prophet...? Wow, so I decided to take it a step further and I searched his background along with McCains...McCain is a pretty good guy, for the most part. Nothing that jumped out at me. But Obama's...uh...yeah. I always heard and read the emails about him, but because I was just so sick of hearing about him I just didn't bother to really look into it. But he is still part of the 3rd largest terrorist tribe, the Luo Tribe. Which is in Uganda as well. The reason why I said that is because most of us know Bishop John and Sis. Sarah Wyaberie from Uganda, Africa. Well, he and his wife just came to our church in Colorado and stayed here for some time. Well, they were telling us that Uganda is praying for the United States that we do NOT get Obama as a President. That they know all about him and even more than what they are letting us know. They were telling us some stuff about him and the tribe. Now come one people. These are people from a 3rd world country and they have heard and know very well who he is. And the stuff they were telling us blew our minds! Then I saw where he likes to take "vacations and work" well, their main practice of religion is Muslim, Hindu's and focus strongly on magic...Indonesia. If you don't believe me, look it up. Wikipedia will tell ya. He's buddies with Palestine leaders...yikes! So then I looked into his family's history and it's not matching up. And it says that this is where he BELIEVES his ancestors are from and who they are...but more research shows there is no relation. And his family, look into his mom's side. His dad's side is pretty much out there, but his mother's side is kinda like a made up story. Some truths but many false things. It's really scary. So I decided that I was going to vote. I knew if I did vote from the beginning who I'd vote for, but still wanted to know as much as I could about all of them.

You may ask, Well, if you already knew who you'd vote for, then why would you not vote and do so much research? Well, I'll explain. I didn't like either candidate. At first Obama yes, I did like and McCain I did like equally. So I was up for either one. I don't vote for my party just because it's my party. Nor do I vote because I am half African or because I'm female. But I vote based on morals. Morals that God gave us. Abortion, Same sex marriage, partial birth abortion, human cloning, curriculum that promotes homosexuality..? Serious...? I know people in their right mind are not going to vote for these or people who supports these! Come on America - WAKE UP!!! If the people in Africa can see, why can't we? If he is the anti-Christ, then we know that the end is truly near, especially if he does get elected into office. Like I said, I'm not voting based on race, sex or party but did vote based on God's Word and morals. Hopefully you did and do the same thing.

I know God's hand is in this, He had to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah he may and most likely will do that to America if we (as a nation) sway that way of immorality. He will save those of us who keep ourselves true to Him and His Word. But we this comes into, we need to open our eyes and try and get as many friends, family and people we don't even know to see who the TRUE GOD is and always has and will be. We need to witness harder than ever if Obama is in office. But please lets all try and make a difference and vote...our votes do count, even if it's just statistics it'll show how many of us have morals.

I'm glad God did open my eyes while they were blinded...even though I wasn't gonna vote for Obama...but for me to see for myself the way things really are and for me to get out there and vote for what's right. This may eventually affect my children and other friends and family down the road, maybe even myself now. So if not for you, think of others.

Pastor's Wife

This next post really does mean something to me. I have had the chance to sit under the three most wonderful ladies in Pentecost. And am glad to have been able to call Sis. Lori Elder, Sis. Doretha Jones and Sis. Lorraine Bertram my Pastor's Wives or as I prefer, the First Ladies in my life. They have taught me so much and have always been there for me. I love you all very much!!!

Sis. Elder -

I have been at CGC since I was 5 years old. I have really gotten close to you the older I got. You and the Elder family mean so much to me. Jeff is an awesome young man, Mitchell is like my little brother, I love that kid, and "Melody from Heaven", me and my mom love that little girl. She and I are still going to live in a chocolate house someday together. haha. But I do want to thank you for everything. The talks we had, times we went out to eat together and the night I spent the night, me, Melody and Jazzy (hehe), and the times where I watched the kids late at night or helped pick up after a meeting at your place. You have always been there for me through my roughest times growing up even up to now. Right now we are separated by states and yet you're still right there. Thank You. I love to play the bass while you are playing, it's comforting. And Bro. Elder has showed me so much like my dad on the bass and music in general. Besides that, he is my spiritual dad, until my daddy, In JESUS NAME, gets in church. The love you have for the Spanish culture in CGC is just amazing. And you going through the classes to learn their language shows to me how dedicated and how much of a burden God has placed in your heart for other cultures and races, it truly is beautiful. You don't know how much I am blessed when you are dancing in the Spirit, it's such a beautiful thing. You show just because you're a pastor's wife doesn't mean that you are too good to shout with the rest of us. I also want to thank you for well, being you. You stepped out of the box and didn't care what I thought when you literally had to "shake some sense into me" at a Youth Camp, and because of you is where I'm at now. You really did knock some sense into me that night, and other nights when needed. But I thank you for having my best at heart. I know that there are times that you probably want to beat me ;-), but you need someone to keep you on your toes...just playin. Your meekness is not mistaken for weekness. That's for sure! I won't forget the day when you and Jeff were playing around and you threw him down...haha. I know what momma not to mess with. But not just physical, but spiritually, you are strong. I watched and listened as in prayer you tore walls and kingdoms down. You helped my family and have been such an influence in our lives. My mom, from the time we have stepped foot in CGC up til' now she still looks up to you. She loves you so much and I do think because of your influence in her life she is stronger. I know my mom is a very meek lady, but she learned from you. She's always on her knees praying for my dad and you have even had a breakthrough with my dad, which we still don't know how you did. But since that night of the play before my brother was born, my mom has grown so much especially in her walk with God. She sees how God used you and is in awe and just loves you oh so much. She always tells me, want to be something great, sell out totally to God and look at Sis. Elder as a role model, she won't stir you wrong. Which my momma is right. You observe your surroundings before speaking, which shows me your wisdom. Even when talking to you, you always have something positive to say. I know we argue on who loves who more, but I won't surrender...I LOVE YOU MORE...! You are a lady of virtue, wisdom and a heart after God. I love you so much!!!

Always,
Your Rockin'

Sis. Jones -

When I think of you, I think of a woman of faith and beauty. God did bless not only me, but CGC for several months as you and Bro. Jones and little Dillion as our pastor and family in our lives. Every time I see you, even at Heritage I get so happy and excited to see you once again. And to learn of what God has done for you since then is just amazing. In Hebrews when talking about faith, you are a true example of that. And not to ever lose sight of God. So amazing! You and I got a small chance to bond through music and other ways. But you have showed me what I know today on the organ and piano and even the drums. I remember you jumping in the drum cage telling me to play something so you can play along so I know where I'm at, and that actually helped me in playing the drums. Also in directing the choirs and singing. You helped develop my musical abilities. You were such an encourager while I was entering my freshman year of high school and helped me stand up for what I believe and not depart from it. You showed me, it's okay to go out and have fun and yet still be a lady, and a Godly lady at that. You were strict with me, but I am thankful for it. You pushed me to do things I normally didn't, but in the end it was the best. You saw the potential in me and I want to thank you for that, so...Thank You. Thank you for being the support and encourager and great teacher in my life. I love you so much!!!

Sis. Bertram -

Wow! Where do I begin? Well, from the time I had the privilege to meet you at CGC while you and your family were on the road evangelizing I knew that there was a special bond between you and I. You and your family are so awesome! Chantal, that girl is something else. She's an amazing and beautiful young lady, she's like my little sister and just like her mom. Jonathan, he is a good friend and is very respectful. David, he always seems to put a smile on everyones face no matter what. They all seem to get these characteristics from you and your husband. It's such a beautiful relationship that you have with your children. I hope one day when I have kids, I will have the same relationship. It reminds me a lot of mine and my moms relationship. You are a very funny lady to be around, even if your driving does scare me ;-) haha, I still enjoy the times we spend together. You have really touched my heart by your kindness. I don't know why exactly God placed you in my life while I was in Colorado and now in California at Faith Mountain, but I am thankful for it. Couldn't ask for a better person to be around. Yes, you are firm with me, but I need that. Cause I know you are looking out for me. Also, with music, when you were at CGC you told me to play the piano, and well, I took your advice and learned. Sis. Jones one day asked me if I knew a Sis. Bertram, and when I told her yes, she told me okay, she said for me to make sure that you are learning and took me straight to the piano and organ. But it was you that influenced me. You have had such a positive impact in my life. You are a very special lady in my life and an anointed one at that. You have an eye to see the best in people no matter what. You push them to their limits and beyond when it comes to developing their talents or spiritual walk with God. I don't know what you saw in a little girl in Colorado and what you were thinking when you gave me your shoes right off your feet. But I tell you what, I cherish them shoes and even more, I cherish you. When I watch you, I see how you really are next to the man of God, your husband. I love the way you two act as if you were two young people dating, so cute!!! You are a true definition of a wife. You work as a team, but yet take his lead. I told my mom when I get married I want to be able to be a wife like yourself. You set a prime example for me and the church body. You are not a "Do as I say not as I do". Which is amazing because anymore we don't see that a whole lot, especially when coming to standards. But you really are a great role model. And I'm grateful for it. Thank you so much, I LOVE YOU!!!

This poem is for the 3 wonderful, precious, awesome and anointed "First Ladies" in my life.
~The Pastor's Wife~
This pastors wife poem describes the role and pressures of this very important person.

She's a Godly woman, she has such grace
Always a warm greeting, a smile on her face.
She's always encouraging, she knows her place.
She is - The Pastor's Wife.

She has to always look just right
Always on time, though the schedule's tight.
From early morning, 'til late at night
Always - The Pastor's Wife

She's such a Lady, everyone's friend
She serves with love from deep within.
All the rifts she tries to mend
Oh she's - The Pastor's Wife

She carries your burdens, she prays for you
Sometimes she cries the whole night through.
But you won't know when she's feeling blue,'
Cause she's - The Pastor's Wife

At church as she starts to walk up the aisle,
So many need to stop and talk for awhile.
Though she is tired, she has her own trials
She's patient, she's - The Pastor's Wife

Her life, her time, is not her own
There's always a need, they go on and on
With a knock at the door, or a ringing phone.
That's the life of - The Pastor's Wife

Her husband she shares with a whole congregation
She humbly accepts his intense dedication.
In loneliness she kneels to see consolationGod Bless - The Pastor's Wife

Biblical Characters As High-Tech Promoters

Couldn't biblical characters be recruited as high-tech promoters? Consider the following tech advocates and their ad slogans:
10. Noah for Match.com: We can find a mate for anything. Why not you?
9. Moses for the Excedrin Headache Resource Center (Excedrin.com): Take two tablets and call me in the morning.
8. The dove for UPS.com: Guaranteed delivery in 40 days and 40 nights.
7. Adam and Eve for Dell: No Apples for us. We've learned the hard way.
6. Solomon for Microsoft: Don't cut the baby in half.

My Mommy

My MOMMY!!! She means the world to me. My mother has this undying love for her children. I know and have been around many mothers and there is no one that comes close to my mom. She is a woman after God. She's in prayer at all times and is my hero. You see, I am lucky to have MY mom. Because most mothers don't get to pick their kids but my mom was given that chance. And when that chance came up, she picked me. Not even knowing what I would look like. Just made sure my biological mother was always healthy and doing the right things to take care of her (my mom) child. She was there when I was born and the first to hold me. My biological mother, who I am thankful for, I just want to tell you thank you for allowing my mom and dad to be the ones to adopt me.

My mom always wanted to have kids, so that is why they adopted me and have and still do love me as her own. But 10 years later comes my little brother, Miguel, weighing in at a huge 1 lb 8 ounces...! Yes I did say 1 as in one pound. He is a miracle! My mom had him at 25 weeks and he made it. No health problems, just a perfect little boy. He loves to play the drums, he can sing, but right now not into it. He's a very caring but energetic little boy who loves God and is Holy Ghost filled and baptized in JESUS NAME!!! But even though he is of her blood they don't treat us any different and always tell us that they love us equally. And you know, I truly believe her and am amazed.

Sorry ya'll but my momma is the best mommanims in the whole wide world and I'd be lost without her, she is my best friend....LOVE YOU MOM!!!
